Dr. Sarkar earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata, India. While in India, she worked as a volunteer for a polio eradication drive for multiple years. This drive traveled to underserved parts of the country assisting with child vaccinations and maternal health & welfare. Upon moving to the States, Dr. Sarkar went on to complete her residency training at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Sarkar joins Connected Health with over 20 years of experience treating patients with a vast range of medical conditions. She comes to us from Premier Medical Associates of Monroeville, PA, a NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) recognized Internal Medicine practice. Dr. Sarkar has been treating patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes type 2, obesity, insomnia, among more acute cases like pneumonia/acute pain, etc. She has a special interest in metabolic syndrome which is related to the trifecta of disease such as diabetes, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. She has helped many patients with these indolent diseases with a goal based, task focused approach. It is a process to share the accountability with her patients in the quest to reclaim their health. She believes in wholistic approach in medicine where we connect physical and mental with emotional well-being.

Dr. Sarkar joined our concierge practice for the simple reason to be able to make a difference in her patient's life rather than to satisfy the demands of the insurance companies.

In her free time, Dr. Sarkar enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, two children, and darling pet. Dr. Sarkar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
